A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION AT IBMS CONGRESS 2009Back2009-10-05
QBC Europe are pleased to annouce a successful exhibition at the Institute of Biomedical Science Congress 2009 held at the ICC in BirminghamQBC Europe exhibited at the IBMS Congress 2009 from 28th-30th September 2009, where the majority of delegates were UK based Biomedical Scientists from NHS laboratories. There was also a strong presence from African medics and scientists. The new ParaLens OptiLume drew in the crowds and proved to be the equipment of most interest. Delegates were keen to learn about the applications of the ParaLens and understand how they can utilise the benefits of the system within their own laboratory setting. Microbiologists were enthusiastic about the new QBC F.A.S.T. 3 minute TB fluorescence slide kits. QBC Europe sponsored the haematology sessions on day one of the Congress. Dr John Williams from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) delivered an informative lecture on the detection of malaria in UK laboratories using rapid diagnostic tests. Claire Rogers also from LSHTM presented the session ‘There is more to bloodborne parasites than malaria' and discussed the diagnosis of Babesia, Trypanosoma and filarial worm which are rarely seen in UK haematology laboratories.
The QBC® system delivers the technology that leads the way in Point of Care haematology.
